Since the last couple of weeks, Indian summer has turned the Engadine into a flaming sea of yellow, orange and red Arolla Pines. And after a day of exploring the valleys and peaks in the crisp autumn air, what could be better than to retreat to your cabin in the woods for a cup of hot chocolate, some vintage sixties soul vinyl records and a proper game of chess? After all, we have plenty of time to play until the lake in front of our windows will slowly start to freeze – and until the fireplace is properly burning, a little Aretha, Marvin and the Temptations will help to keep us warm. So no matter if you start your moves with an Italian Game or a Queen’s Gambit, make sure to take some time to think ahead – but remember to also trust the universe, as not everything can be foreseen. Last year at The I.C.E., unpredictability won over planning. But we are ready to checkmate and win the next game. So expect us back in February with some surprising moves.
In fact, during the last few editions, The I.C.E. has become more than a gathering for the world’s coolest classic cars on a frozen lake. And in 2025 it will be – more than ever – a cultural phenomenon with many fantastic satellite events, cultural activities and special happenings, embracing the whole town of St. Moritz and the Engadine valley. We are certain that you will like these cherries on top for our signature Concours of Elegance format.
This is also why The I.C.E. is now launching its own mobile app that will be released soon. It will be a guide for visitors to enjoy the event and all activities – on the lake and in town – during this very special week. And it will be updated regularly with the latest news. So make sure to download it to your smartphone – once you have finished your hot chocolate and brought down your counterpart’s king, of course.
